The LaPorte Slicer Ladies Swim Team defeated the Knox Redskins tonight 116-46. With a shallow lineup due to last minute scratches, the Redskins deserve kudos for a valiant effort.
The Slicers won every event except the 500 Freestyle and Diving.
First place finishers for LaPorte were:
200 Medley Relay: Lauren Miskowicz (back), Caiya Cooper (Breast), Becca Shaffer (Fly) and Alicia Wireman (Freestyle) 2:03.20
200 Freestyle: Lauren Miskowicz 2:18.98
200 Individual Medley: Caiya Cooper 2:23.08
50 Freestyle: Becca Shaffer 27.26
100 Butterfly: Lauren Miskowicz 1:11.91
100 Freestyle: Alicia Wireman 1:03.93
200 Freestyle Relay: Callie Hekter, Danielle Temores, Ava Allen and Sarita Pillai 2:10.73
100 Backstroke: Becca Shaffer 1:07.54
100 Breast: Caiya Cooper 1:13.82
400 Freestyle Relay: Lauren Miskowicz, Alicia Wireman, Becca Shaffer and Caiya Cooper 4:02.39
Molly Salyers of Knox won the 500 Freestyle in 6:41.27 with Sarita Pillai of LaPorte closing fast at the finish. And Tessa Conroy of Knox won the 1 meter Diving. A big shout out to Freshman Slicer diver, Chloe Chezem, who hit her first reverse tonight.
The Lady Slicers are starting to come together as a team and they’re going to need everything they’ve got heading into their next competition.
The Slicers head to Valpo next monday.
