The La Porte Girls Track varsity athletes competed well at last night’s DAC meet, placing 6th out of 8 teams, ahead of both Portage and Michigan City. With DAC being one of the toughest conferences in the state, the competition pushed the girls, resulting in several strong performances last night. In total, the girls achieved 10 season PRs in multiple events!
Last night’s season PRs include:
Keatyn Boren – 97′ 2″ in the discus throw
Lilly Burke – 12:54.39 in the 3200m run
Ella Dubbs – 2:47:43 in the 800m run
Laramie Lilly – 13:11.12 in the 3200m run
Gracie Lowe – 6:13.19 in the 1600m run
Bella Schreeg – 1:07.35 in the 400m dash
Hannah Steder – 57.95 in the 300m hurdles
Riley Tuerff – 45.74 in the 300m hurdles, with a 1st place finish
4x400m relay (Bensz, Jones, Steele, Tuerff) – 4:15.84
4x800m relay (Dubbs, Lowe, Minich, Stephany) – 11:14.31
The team also had a 1st place finish by Riley Tuerff in the 100m hurdles (15.75) and a 2nd place finish by Keatyn Boren in shot put (36′ 2″).
Next Tuesday the girls will compete in the Sectional meet at Chesterton High School. Go Slicers!
