The Slicers finished 7th in the competitive Duneland Athletic Conference today scoring a 98.55, the team’s second highest score of the season. Chesterton won with a 112, Valparaiso was 2nd with a 111.65 and Lake Central was 3rd with a 109.95.
The Slicers had a great meet and showed off some newly acquired skills. Freshman Ava Penziol performed her giants on bars in the meet which helped energize the team. Penziol scored a season high of 8.375 and placed 20. Penziol also place 17th in all around (32.5), 30th on vault (7.9), 23rd on beam (8.025), and 28th on floor (8.2).
Senior Madison Esmeyer finished 15th all around (32.975), 25th on vault (8.25), 25th on bars (7.7), 22nd on beam (8.1) and 21st on floor (8.925). Junior Ella Schable finished 16th all around (32.65), 24th on vault (8.2), 27th on bars (7.4), 18th on beam (8.35), and 23rd on floor (8.7). Sophomore Rosie Korell finished 19th all around (21.025), 26th on vault (8.15), 29th on bars (7.35), 29th on beam (7.15), and 25th on floor (8.375).
The Slicers compete at the Chesterton Sectional on Saturday, February 27.
