The LaPorte Slicers fell to the Valparaiso Vikings in their dual meet on Tuesday, January 19 109.6 to 96.6. Senior Madison Esmeyer finished 5th all around for the Slicers with a 32.1 all around and freshman Ava Penziol finished 6th with a 32.0 all around score.

Gabi Grisafi led the Vikings with 1st place finishes in all around (38.05), vault (9.45), bars (9.5) and beam (9.6) and finished 2nd on floor (9.5). Molly Dreher finished 2nd all around with a 35.65, 2nd on vault (8.7), bars (8.85), 7th on beam (8.5) and won floor with a 9.6. Chloe Ochman finished 3rd in all around (34.95), 7th on vault (8.3), 5th on bars (8.15), 4th beam (9.,5), and 3rd on floor (9.3).

Esmeyer finished 4th on vault for the Slicers (8.55), 7th bars (7.4), 8th beam (7.75), and 6th on floor (8.4). Penziol tied for 5th on vault with Sophomore Rosie Korell (8.5), 6th on bars (7.45), 10th on beam (7,3) and 8th on floor with a season high of 8.3. Junior Ella Schable finished 9th on bars (6.6), 6th on beam (8.65), and 5th on floor (8.75). Korell finished 10th onb ars (5.6), 10th on beam (7.4), and 10th on floor (7.3) and 7th all around (28.8). Sophomore Kate Thibideau finished 9th on vault (8.1), 11th on bars (5.1), 11th on beam (6.95), 9th on floor with a season high of 8.0, and 8th all around (28.15). Junior Samara Hale placed 11th on vault (7.5) and 12th on beam (6.9).

The Vikings 2nd team finishers were Makiah Breland 1st on beam (7.85), Mia Curran 1st on bars (7,55), and EmilyLily Moorehead placed 2nd on bars (7.15), 2nd beam (7.8), 1st on floor (8.25), and 1st all around (31.8).

The Slicers continue to make improvements and travel to Portage Thursday for their next dual meet.
