Culver Academies vs LaPorte High School
118 65

Your Slicers may have lost tonight, but they cheered at the finish with more personal bests and more points scored than expected. With only 10 swimmers and 1 diver, the Slicers stood tall against the very deep Culver Academy Eagles, falling 118-65.
The boys 200 Medley Relay of Gage Lane(back), Luke Banic (breast), Grant Olson (fly) and Ethan Plank (free) finished first with a time of 1:59.34.
Junior Ethan Plank had his best 100 Freestyle of the season finishing first in 59.35.
Senior diver Joe Bartoszewicz beat his recent PR by 17 points finishing with 199.50 points just missing 200 points to come in second place. Joe has come into this season with a much more serious and focused attitude.
The Slicers coaches gave the race of the meet to a third place finish by freshman Skyler Hughes in the 500 Freestyle. Hughes, a newbie to swimming, has been coming to every practice, even the optional ones. His work ethic paid off in the pool with a 6:34.45 finish in his first 500 ever.
This young team has a bright future ahead.
The Slicers face Portage at home next Tuesday.
Go Slicers!
