The Slicers Boys Swim Team has been the underdog all season. With only 8 Swimmers and 3 Divers, they’ve been outnumbered all season. Today at the DAC Championship Meet in Valparaiso, our boys swam 16 individual events and dropped time in 15 of them. This has been our goal all season. Divers Toy Hayes, Joseph Bartoszewicz and Chris Cook finished 9th, 11th and 16th respectively. The Slicers have improved in every meet so far. With a disqualification of our fastest freestyle relay, we were nudged out of 6th place by Merrillville. There were some impressive time drops by our team. Sophomore Lucas Banic dropped 5 seconds in the 200 IM and 7 seconds in the 500 Freestyle. Senior Daniel Quintero dropped 7 seconds in his 100 Breaststroke. We had 11 top 16 finishes for the meet. Senior Jaden Millard, Sophomore Ethan Plank, and Freshmen Grant Olson, Gage Lane, Maxwell Unger and Ben Kish all had time drops. The 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay also dropped time and finished 6th each.
The Slicers face Wheeler this Wednesday at Home to finish our regular season and will continue to get ready for Sectionals on the February 20th.
Go Slicers!
