LaPorte stole the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Lowell on Saturday. The game was tied at three with LaPorte batting in the top of the seventh when Conner Stalbaum reached on a dropped third strike.
Lowell scored three runs in the second inning, but LaPorte still managed to pull out the victory.
LaPorte evened things up at three in the top of the sixth inning when an error scored one run for LaPorte Slicer Varsity.
Mason Schroeder got the win for LaPorte Slicer Varsity. He went seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out six.
LaPorte totaled six hits in the game. Carson Crass and Stalbaum all had multiple hits for LaPorte.
In game two, LaPorte stole the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Lowell on Saturday. The game was tied at four with LaPorte batting in the top of the eighth when Gavin Zolviniski grounded out, scoring one run.
LaPorte evened things up at four in the top of the seventh inning when Jacob Spence doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Brock Lipscomb was credited with the victory for LaPorte. He went three and a third innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out eight.
David Applegarth started the game for LaPorte Slicer Varsity. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out five
LaPorte racked up seven hits. Jack McGuire and Spence each managed multiple hits for LaPorte. McGuire went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead LaPorte in hits. Lipscomb led LaPorte Slicer with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
