LaPorte Slicers JV defeated Michigan City 10-1 on Tuesday thanks to 6 runs in the 4th inning. Jack McGuire, Brady Bernth, Jacob Pinkerton, Camrin Worthington, Evan Cizewski and Shane Weaver all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Worthington pitcher the Slicers to victory. He went 4 innings, allowing 1 hit, no runs, 1 walk and striking out 6. Riley Attar came in for an inning allowing no hits, no walks, no runs and striking out 3. Cizewski and Nathan Galinowski closed out the final 2 innings. LaPorte tallied 11 hits in the game. Cizewski and Bernth each collected multiple hits for the Slicers. Cizewski went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Slicers in hits. Collin Howard led LaPorte with 3 stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 9 stolen bases. LaPorte was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. The Slicers will next be in action tomorrow, May 15, where they will again take on Michigan City on the road. The first pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m.
