Slicers Defeat the Indians Freshman vs Lake Central High School (14-7) Win Your La Porte Slicers win a battle on the road against Lake Central. La Porte was able to score on the opening possession with a nice 40 yard touchdown run by Jaden Profitt to go up 6-0. Defensively La Porte was able to keep the Indians offense scoreless by being assignment sound and rallying to the ball. To start the 3rd quarter La Porte was able to successfully recover an onside kick, kicked by Samuel Norman and recovered by Quinn White to give the Slicers the ball to start the half. Once again Profitt found the end zone from about 15 yards out. Quinn White was able to put the ball in the end zone for the 2pt conversion to put the Slicers up 14-0. The way the defense was able to come together with 2:45 left in the game to force huge incompletions proves they are built to close games out. From the first whistle to the last, your Slicers left everything out there in the field. From the great team work from the offensive line to the communication on special teams. Offensively La Porte was able to control the clock be maintaining drives and holding onto the ball for 28 minutes of the game. Nolan Darrell, Chase Gregory, Dane Penziol, and Quinn White all made huge catches to not only picking up huge first downs but catchting everything Profitt threw on the night going 6 for 6. The defense only gave up 66 yards on the night (10 rushing and 56 passing). The Slicers are now 4-1 on the season and 2-1 in conference play. La Porte will be at home next week when they host the Merrillville Pirates to continue their run for the DAC. Kickoff is at 6 pm.
