Slicers take down Chesterton Freshman vs Chesterton High School (20-14) Win Your La Porte Slicers take down a strong Chesterton team to bring them to 3-1 on the year and 1-1 in DAC contest. The Slicers defense forced a 3 and out to start the game followed by a blocked punt by Brayden Watson. Quinn White was right there to pick up the loose ball and take it all the way down to the Slicers 5 yard line. La Porte only needed one play to find the end zone on a Landen Elliott Rushing touchdown. Leo Gonzales made the PAT to put the Slicers up 7-0. Chesterton fired right back and scored a touchdown on their next drive. Landen Elliott was able to find the end zone again right before the 1st quarter expired. Leo Gonzales made the PAT and the Slicers were up 14-7. In the 3rd quarter Josh Means made a spectacular play by intercepting to ball to give La Porte another opportunity. Jayden Profitt found the end zone late in the 4th quarter to put the Slicers up for good 20-14. Liam McCarty was able to knife through Chestertons offense with less than a minute left in the game and sacked the quarterback for a huge loss. With less than 50 seconds left in the game the Slicers defense was able to force an incompletion so the offense could close the game out. Elliott had 142 yards on the ground with 2 touchdowns and Profitt had 30 yards on the ground with 1 rushing touchdown. The offensive line was able to create holes and open up running lanes all night to help control the clock. La Porte's stout defense played fast and sound all night making plays when they mattered the most. The Slicers will be on the road next week when they will try to keep the momentum when the take on the Lake Central Indians. Kickoff is at 6pm
