Slicers Win 15-8 Freshman vs New Prairie High School (15-8) Win Your La Porte Slicers Freshmen opened the season with a hard fought win over the Cougars. The Slicers stopped the Cougars on their opening drive and capitalized early on with a touchdown run from Jayden Profitt. Leo Gonzales made the PAT to put the Slicers up 7-0 in the first quarter. New Prairie was able to score right before halftime to make the score 7-8 Cougars. It was a back and fourth fight when the Slicers defense came up huge with a little over 4 minutes left in the game. The Slicers offense was able to find the end zone again with a big touch down run of 40 yards from Landon Elliott. Jayden Profitt scored on the 2pt conversion putting the Slicers up for good 15-8 with a little over 2 minutes left in the game. La Porte defense bit down on their mouth pieces, tightened their chinstraps, and shut the Cougars down one last time to help secure the victory. Your Slicers will be in action again next week at home when they host The Red Devils. Kickoff is at 6pm CST.
