LaPorte Varsity Softball Defeats Portage Shayla Sorg collected three hits in four at bats, as LaPorte defeated Portage 7-3 on Wednesday at Kesling Park - Softball Facility. Sorg doubled in the second inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the sixth inning. LaPorte flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring seven runs on seven hits to take the lead, 7-3. Addy Bennitt earned the win for LaPorte. The pitcher allowed six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out one and walking one. Mia Maxel pitched three innings of shutout ball for LaPorte in relief. The hurler gave up one hit, striking out three and walking one. LaPorte accumulated 13 hits in the game. Evie Travis and Sorg were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for LaPorte. Paige White collected two hits for LaPorte in three at bats. Next up for LaPorte is a game at Jimtown on Friday.
