Wes Kaiser Provides Walk-Off In Nail-Biter Victory Against Hobart Brickies Baseball JV

It came down to the wire on Saturday, as La Porte Slicers JV grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 5-4, over Hobart Brickies Baseball JV. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the seventh when Wes Kaiser singled, scoring one run. Khalen Matzke and Nate Moses collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Matzke singled in the fourth inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the seventh inning. Hobart Brickies Baseball JV jumped out to the lead in the top of the fourth inning after a double scored one run, and a singled, scored two more. La Porte Slicers JV tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a walk by Luke Lambert, and a single by Nate Moses. Xander Daley earned the win for La Porte Slicers JV. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking none. Nolan Wilson stepped on the mound first for La Porte Slicers JV. The pitcher gave up four hits and four runs over four and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking two. La Porte Slicers JV accumulated 10 hits in the game. Matzke and Moses each collected three hits for La Porte Slicers JV. Moses went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Lambert collected two hits for La Porte Slicers JV in two at bats. The Slicers are next in action Tuesday, May 13th when they will take on Valparaiso at home. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm at DeCamp Field.
