Chesterton made the score 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth after Josh Davis was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Troy Barrett singled, scoring two runs, and CT Rusboldt induced Ethan Glassman to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Barrett earned the win for Chesterton. The pitcher gave up six hits and three runs (two earned) over six and two-thirds innings, striking out 14 and walking three. Cody Benedict took the loss for La Porte Varsity Slicers. The starting pitcher went three innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits, striking out seven and walking two. Gage Raymond and McShane each drove in one run for La Porte Varsity Slicers. Leadoff hitter Barrett led Chesterton with two hits in four at bats. La Porte Varsity Slicers will travel to Plymouth for their next game on Saturday.
