LaPorte had trouble keeping up with Lake Central in a 12-2 loss on Tuesday at Kesling Park - Softball Facility. Mia Maxel led things off in the circle for La Porte. The starter gave up 11 hits and 12 runs (eight earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking two. Maddie Such began the game for Lake Central. The starter gave up three hits and two runs (unearned) over five innings, striking out 12 and walking three. Shayla Sorg, Evie Travis, and Audrey Kneifel each collected a hit for LaPorte. Sorg led LaPorte with two runs batted in. Lake Central accumulated 11 hits in the game. Iwema drove the middle of the lineup, leading Lake Central with four runs batted in. The center fielder went 4-for-4 on the day. Makayla VanVossen collected two hits for Lake Central in four at bats. Next up for LaPorte is a game at Chesterton on Wednesday.
