Even though La Porte collected 10 hits to Logansport's six, they still fell 7-5 on Saturday. Gage Raymond, CT Rusboldt, Keegan Ramos, and Joey Kirk each collected two hits for La Porte Varsity Slicers. La Porte Slicers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two triples. La Porte Slicers first got on the board when Cody Benedict tripled, scoring two runs. A single by Raymond extended the La Porte Varsity Slicers lead to 4-1 in the top of the second inning. Logan Hay led things off on the bump for La Porte. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and six runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking two. La Porte Slicers piled up 10 hits in the game. Benedict provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Slicers with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. La Porte turned one double play in the game. La Porte Slicers play at home on Tuesday against Crown Point in their next game.
