The game was tied at one in the bottom of the sixth when Joey Kirk singled, scoring one run. Both teams were strong on the mound. La Porte Slicer pitchers struck out 11, while Boone Grove sat down 13. Boone Grove opened the scoring in the fifth after D Carrera hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. La Porte Varsity Slicers took the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth thanks to singles by Brody White, and Kirk. CT Rusboldt earned the win for La Porte Varsity Slicers. The reliever allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking none. Carrera took the loss for Boone Grove. The hurler went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering two runs on one hit, striking out one and walking two. Cody Benedict stepped on the bump first for La Porte. White, Benedict, Reed Raymond, Keegan Ramos, and Kirk each collected one hit for the Slicers. White and Kirk each drove in one run La Porte. La Porte Varsity Slicers will travel to Logansport for their next game on Saturday.
