La Porte Varsity Slicers Stymied By Penn La Porte Varsity Slicers had trouble keeping up with Penn in a 16-2 loss on Tuesday. Penn got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Mason Braun tripled to center field, and Bennett Hartford grounded out, each scoring one run. Penn scored six runs on three hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, Kyler Kaczmarski drew a walk, scoring one run, Pecina tripled, scoring three runs, and Brayden Plummer grounded out, scoring one run. Dawson French earned the win for Penn. The hurler gave up four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out two and walking none. Cody Ryden took the loss for La Porte Varsity Slicers. The starting pitcher went two innings, surrendering five runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking one. Gage Raymond, Keegan Ramos, Cody Benedict, and Reed Raymond each collected one hit for La Porte Varsity Slicers. Raymond and Raymond were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for La Porte Varsity Slicers. La Porte Varsity Slicers play at home on Friday against Boone Grove in their next game.
