The Girls Gymnastics Team placed 7th today at the Crown Point Sectional scoring 96.4. Evie Travis was 15th on vault 8.925, 29th on bars 7.35 after a spectacular fall, 24th on beam 8.375 with a fall on her back handspring series, 15th on floor 8.7, and 16th all-around 33.35. Kate Doty was 31st on vault 8.2, tied with Travis on bars 7.35, 14th on beam 8.775, had a great floor routine with new tumbling passes but received an unusually low score of 8.325 placing her 21st, and 18th all-around 32.65. Genny Witulski tied for 31st with Doty on vault scoring 8.2, scored a season high on 6.15 placing her 39th, a season high on 8.65 on beam placing her 17th, 41st on floor with a 7.4, and 28th all-around with a season high 30.4. Jules Schadt was 40th all-around 8.0, 41st on bars 5.975, 46th on beam 6.575, 44th on floor 6.95, and 35th all-around 27.5. Even though the girls had great floor routines with many upgrades their scores were unusually low. The girls really had a solid meet today after battling injury and illness for the past month. I am so proud of what they have accomplished with new skills and overall confidence. Our team will be growing with incoming freshman next season and we are excited about our potential!
