The La Porte Slicers varsity basketball team lost 79-56 on Saturday evening to the unbeaten Northridge Raiders. Northridge knocked down 15 threes through three quarters to lift them to their second straight Steiner Homes Holiday Tourney championship. Griffin Ott-Large led the way for the Slicers with 16 points. Riley Ryba added 12 points, knocking down four threes and both Nic Spence and Sawyer Tonagel chipped in 10 points for La Porte, who dropped to 7-4 as the 2024 slate of their schedule wrapped up. Following a week off, the Slicers return to action at home on January 7 as they host Elkhart in a non-conference game. The DAC portion of the schedule begins later that week, with a January 10th matchup at Lake Central. For their efforts in the three games, both Nic Spence & Griffin Ott-Large were selected as "Steiner Homes All-Tournament Team" recipients. Both players scored double digits in each of the three games in helping La Porte earn Runners-Up honors for the 2024 Holiday Tournament.
