The Slicers traveled to Lowell High School today and came out on top in a double dual meet between LaPorte, Lowell and Calumet New Tech. The Slicers defeated Lowell 63-38, and Calumet 81-12. The meet between LP and Lowell was closer than it looks on paper. After diving, Lowell was up by one point. However, the Slicers dominated the second half of the meet and cruised to victory. Winning for LaPorte were: 200 Medley Relay: Cali Hatala (backstroke), Noor Hakim (breaststroke), Megan Zolvinski (butterfly), and Lily Siford (freestyle). 200 Freestyle: Isabel Barron 200 Individual Medley: Cali Hatala 100 Butterfly: Megan Zolvinski 500 Freestyle: Regan Hughes 200 Freestyle Relay: Barron, Grace Caviston, Siford and Zolvinski 100 Breaststroke: Grace Caviston 400 Freestyle Relay: Barron, Caviston, Hatala and Hakim Both teams have been fighting illness and injury, so a big shoutout to Regan Hughes, who won the 500 Free while still fighting the bug. Against a very small Calumet team, the Slicers went 1-2 in virtually every event. The Slicers record climbs to 7-2 and they host Portage on Thursday, December 12th. Always proud. Go Slicers!
