Slicers Girls Swimming and Diving Beats Michigan City 127-44

LaPorte hosted the Michigan City Wolves tonight and came out on top 127-44. The Slicers won nearly every event except the 50 Freestyle and Diving. LaPorte opened the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay with: Cali Hatala (backstroke), Noor Hakim (breaststroke), Megan Zolvinski (butterfly), and Lily Siford (freestyle). Cali Hatala won both the 200 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. Noor Hakim won both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke. Isabel Barron won both the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyle. Lily Siford won the 100 Freestyle. LaPorte won the 200 Freestyle Relay with: Grace Caviston, Megan Zolvinski, Lily Siford and Isabel Barron. LaPorte won the 400 Freestyle Relay with: Isabel Barron, Cali Hatala, Grace Caviston and Noor Hakim. A big Slicer shoutout to Megan Zolvinski, who dropped 7 seconds in the 100 Breaststroke, and was also named the Northwest Indiana Times Athlete of the Week. Also, thanks to Michigan City Coach Kate Mullin and her Wolves for the great sportsmanship they showed throughout the meet. LaPorte hosts Culver Academies on Thursday. Always proud. Go Slicers!
