LaPorte Girls Swimming Cruises Past Wheeler and Oregon Davis

The LaPorte Slicers Girls Swimming and Diving team faced both Wheeler and Oregon Davis in a double dual meet tonight. LaPorte won every swimming event against both teams. Their sole loss was in diving. LaPorte opened the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay with: Cali Hatala (backstroke), Noor Hakim (breaststroke), Megan Zolvinski (butterfly), and Lily Siford (freestyle). Katelyn Peterson won the 200 Freestyle, with sister Sarah Peterson not far behind in second place. Cali Hatala won both the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke. Megan Zolvinski won both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. Lily Siford won the 100 Freestyle. Regan Hughes, coming back from a shoulder injury, won the 500 Freestyle. LaPorte won the 200 Freestyle Relay with: Regan Hughes, Grace Caviston, Liz Luna and Katelyn Peterson. Grace Caviston won the 100 Breaststroke, and LaPorte closed the meet with a resounding win in the 400 Freestyle Relay behind: Megan Zolvinski, Lily Siford, Cali Hatala and Noor Hakim. It was a solid first meet for the Slicers, who have been practicing twice daily. Shoutouts to Madi Griffin and Sarah Peterson, who both had a great meet. The Slicers face Knox at home on Thursday.
