LPVB outlasts Lake Central in 5 games

The LaPorte volleyball team finished Duneland Conference play with a 17-25, 33-31, 18-25, 25-13, 15-11 victory over Lake Central on Thursday night. Offensively, Avery Tulacz led the Slicers with 14 kills and Elizabeth Anglin tallied 10 kills. Madison Copeland recorded nine kills and Kaitlin Wilson had six kills. Anglin dished out a team-best 27 assists, while Lilly Buckley had 19 helpers. Defensively, Emma Hull led the way with 17 digs and Mia Mendoza added 15 digs. Tulacz had 11 digs and Buckley recorded 10 digs. Anglin (8) and Shayla Sorg (7) also aided the defense. At the net, Copeland had four blocks with Wilson adding three. Abbie DeLee had two block kills. On the service line, Hull and Mendoza each tallied three aces, while Tulacz recorded two. In the junior varsity match, the Indians won 2-0.
