The LaPorte Girls Cross Country team traveled to Marion on Saturday to compete at Indiana Wesleyan. It was not the best conditions for distance running, with temperatures in the 80's, but the girls walked away with some solid performances. The Slicers finished 13th of 40 teams. Leading the way this week was Faith Spain. Despite the conditions, Spain ran a season best time of 19:09 en route to a 9th place finish of 221 runners. Caitlyn Carnes also was recognized with a medal after her 29th place finish. Carnes ran 20:23 in the race. Maggie Conner and Caylin VanShoyck rounded out the top 4 for the Slicers.
