Madi Squire drove in four runs on two hits to lead La Porte Varsity Softball past Merrillville 14-0 on Wednesday. La Porte opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to doubles by Squire and Allie Wiencek. La Porte scored six runs on three hits in the top of the second inning. Shayla Sorg and Lauren Poe both doubled in the inning, driving in two a piece. Mia Maxel stepped in the circle first for La Porte. Maxel gave up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking none. Marcy Bearickx surrendered zero runs over three innings, striking out eight.
