LaPorte Slicers JV Baseball Defeats Chesterton 6-2

LaPorte Slicers JV topped Chesterton 6-2 Wednesday at DeCamp Field. Chesterton opened the scoring in the first inning after a double drove in one. LaPorte took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Reed Raymond singled and Dawson Shreve doubled each scoring one run. Keegan Ramos earned the win for the Slicers. The starter allowed four hits and one run over six innings, striking out seven and walking two. Khalen Matzke appeared in relief for LaPorte closing the game out and striking out one. Matzke, Ramos, Shreve and Raymond each drove in one run for the Slicers. Ramos went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead LaPorte in hits. Nate Moses stole three bases and Jack Travis stole two as the Slicers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating six stolen bases for the game. The LaPorte Slicers JV Baseball team is next in action Friday, April 26th, when they will take on New Prairie at DeCamp Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
