Shayla Sorg collected three hits in four at bats, as La Porte Varsity Softball defeated Valparaiso 6-2 on Monday. Sorg hit a solo home run to center field in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and doubled in the sixth. Marcy Bearickx earned the win for La Porte. The lefty surrendered just two runs over seven innings, striking out nine. Bearickx helped herself in the bottom of the fifth hitting a solo home run to right field. La Porte tallied 12 hits in the game. Madi Squire and Sorg were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits. Paige White and Bearickx each collected multiple hits.
