Slicers Fall in Holiday Tourney Championship 66-60 to #13 Northridge

The Slicers Boys Varsity basketball team used a second half surge against #13 Northridge, but came up short, falling 66-60 in the finale of the Steiner Homes Holiday Tournament. The Slicers were led by Nic Spence, who had a game-high 22 pts and pulled down 8 rebounds. Rylan Kieszkowski had 17 points and Malik Corley had 12 points for La Porte, which dropped to 7-4 on the season. With the win, Northridge improves to 10-1 on the year. Spence and Corley also were both selected as members of the All-Tournament team as well. The Slicers are back in action on Tuesday night against Lowell HS at the La Porte Civic Center. JV will tip off at 5:30, with the Varsity game slated for a 7 PM start. Duneland Conference play begins next Friday, January 5 in Slicer Gym, as La Porte hosts unbeaten #9 Lake Central.
