The Slicers traveled to Highland High School this evening, and won 138-48. LaPorte won every event, and went 1,2,3 in several. LaPorte opened the meet with a 1,2 finish in the 200 Medley Relay. Winning were: Jakob Schroeder (backstroke), Abbas Hakim (breaststroke), Otto Wildhart (butterfly), and Chaise Adrian (freestyle). Chaise Adrian, Gavin Crail and Chase Childers then went 1,2,3 in the 200 Freestyle. Abbas Hakim won both the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke. Hakim lost his goggles at the start of the race, and still managed to win over teammate Chaise Adrian. Otto Wildhart won both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. Andrew Hayes and Landon Corbett went 1,2 in Diving with Corbett getting yet another PR with a score of 158.55. Hayes was solid at 210.90. Shoutout to Hayes, who has been pulling double duty as a diver and swimmer. Hayes is also an excellent backstroke specialist. Jakob Schroeder won the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. Roman Garay won the 500 Freestyle, with Chase Childers and Milo Jimenez going 2-3. LaPorte went 1,2 in the 200 Freestyle Relay winning with: Jake Schroeder, Chaise Adrian, Caleb Johnson, and Chase Childers. The Slicers finished the meet with a win in the 400 Freestyle Relay behind: Gavin Crail, Allen Fuller, Garay, and Hayes. I'd like to give another shoutout to Freshman standout Gavin Crail. Gavin can swim every event, and I've enjoyed having the luxury of mixing it up in a lot of meets, and putting him in his off events. Crail is such a talented swimmer, he really doesn't have any off events. I put him in the 200 Free for the first time this season, and he made our distance specialist, Chaise Adrian work for his win. This group of young student/athletes work harder than just about any group I've ever coached. I'm proud to be their coach, and I look forward to the rest of the season. The Slicers host Elkhart this Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Their record climbs to 9-2. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
