The Slicers traveled to Highland this evening and cruised to victory with a 113-62 finish. LaPorte opened with a win in the 200 Medley Relay behind: Abigail Burger (backstroke), Cali Hatala (breaststroke), Noor Hakim (butterfly), and Lily Siford (freestyle). The Slicers then went 1,2,3 in the 200 Free with Burger winning and Katelyn Peterson finishing a close second. Liz Luna was third. Cali Hatala won the 200 Individual Medley in a close race against Highland's Dylana Plant. Hatala also won the 500 Freestyle. Lily Siford won both the 50 and 100 Freestyle. Noor Hakim won the 100 Butterfly with Lyla Bannwart and Paige Doeppke finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. The Slicers won the 400 Freestyle Relay with: Hatala, Siford, Regan Hughes and Hakim. This has been a season of ups and downs. The Slicers have won a lot of meets by a large margin of victory, and they've also lost a few meets in the same manner. This is normal with a young rebuilding team. The coaches and I couldn't be prouder of the hard work these student/athletes put in.
