By Brahim Hakim | Dec 2, 2023 1:02 PM

The LaPorte Slicers Girls Swimming and Dive Team split a double dual meet this morning at the LaPorte High School Natatorium. The Slicers came up on top vs Calumet New Tech High School 80-14, but fell short vs the Lowell Devils 30-71. The Slicers won every event vs Calumet, but only two individual events vs Lowell. Freshman Noor Hakim won both the 500 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke vs Lowell. Top finishers vs Lowell were: 200 Medley Relay: Abigail Burger (backstroke), Cali Hatala (breaststroke), Noor Hakim (Butterfly), and Lily Siford (Freestyle). Lily Siford won both the 200 and 100 Freestyle. Abigail Burger won the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke. Cali Hatala won the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. Noor Hakim won the 500 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke. 200 Freestyle Relay: Carmen Eguizabal, Sofia LaRocco, Regan Hughes, and Katelyn Peterson. 400 Freestyle Relay: Hatala, Siford, Burger, and Hakim. We had several outstanding efforts from the girls, but a few technical mistakes kept us from being competitive vs Lowell. The Slicers record is now 4-4. Our next meet is Tuesday at Portage. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
