Varsity vs Portage High School (3 - 4) Loss What an amazing game on a Tuesday night. The ladies Indians jumped out early with a 2-0 lead that was cut in off later in the first half by Clair Huber from a shot from outside the box. The Indians stretched it to 3-1 early in the second half. The depleted Lady Slicers played some of the most inspired soccer in recent memory with continous pressure on and off the ball. Midway in the second half Claire once again closed the gap and then with 77th minute equalized sending the game into Overtime. The Lady Slicers with 8 normal varsity players left on the field had some tremendous help from our call ups that filled in the gaps. Yailin Villa, Jasmyn Romero and Shanik Perez stepped up with big performances to stay in the game. With 3 minutes remaining the Indians tallied the winning goal by a crazy mash up in front of the goal and narrowly crossed the line. The Lady Slicers played with big hearts and energy and left it all on the field ending with a result that did not reflect the effort exerted. Although banged up the staff and parents couldn't be prouder with how the Lady Slicers have been growing and coming together that led to this excellent performance. Lady Slicers will be in action on Thursday against Andrean at the Slicer Stadium.
