The Slicers originally travelled to Portage on August 31st where the teams finished 12 minutes of play and LaPorte held a 6-0 lead on 66 yd run by Kyria Zapala. Play resumed at Kesling field with Portage on offense. Portage turned the ball over on downs to start the game off. The Slicers first drive stalled, hampered by self inflicted penalties. Portage began to have some offensive momentum but the drive stalled past mid field When the Slicers took over on offense they had the first score of this evening on a pass from Mandy Yang to Siona Ohime. They did not look back from there. Mandy Yang had 4 TD passes on the night and converted two PAT's. She threw two touchdown passes to Siona Ohime, one to Grace Bray-Daley and one to Eva Walker. The Slicer defense was led by Kyria Zapala with 7 tackles and two pass breakups. Eva Walker added an interception to end a bit of momentum by Portage.
