JV LP Flag Football Falls Despite Big Games from Vinson and Cooper On Saturday morning, the JV Flag Football team dropped a home matchup vs. Hanover Central by a score of 32-8. The Slicers got off to a very slow start and allowed 4 scores in the 1st half, but showed some character in the 2nd half with several big time plays including the 1st Touchdown of the season by Ayriana Vinson, as well as a tackle for a safety from Ta’Niyah Cooper. On offense, Amelia Hovis, Luci Desi, and Maddie Dawson led the team in rushing with several big runs, while Mandy Yang led the team in passing yards. On Defense, Molly Guthrie and Ta’Niyah Cooper kept Hanover’s offense at bay with several tackles for loss, as well as a turnover on downs. Savannah Lawson, Luci Zarantonello, Cienna Jordan, and Stella Sims held down receivers all day and were quick to recover and help on tackles all game. This is the final JV game of the season for this group, and while the scoreboard tells one story, these girls have continued to play hard all year, and develop into much stronger players on both sides of the ball as the season has progressed.
