The Slicers hosted the Chesterton Trojans in a game that went down to the wire! The Trojans took a 14-7 lead into halftime after a reverse and a pick six. The Slicer defense stiffened in the second half with two interceptions and did not give up a score. The Slicers opened up the game with a touchdown drive. Amelia Hovis hit Reagan Wireman from 12 yds out. The Trojans answered with the big play on the reverse. Right before half the Trojans defense grabbed a pick 6. The second half started with some back an forth until the Trojans started driving down the field until Mia Johnson ended their drive with an interception. Slicers tied it up about midway through the second half with Mandy Yang hitting Keianah Hart for a 6 yd TD pass. After the score the Trojans were moving the ball down the field again when Aerabella Churchill pulled in an interception on the sideline. The Slicers drove down the field and scored the go ahead touchdown with 2.8 seconds on the clock with a 20 yard pas from Mandy Yang to Aerabella Churchill. What a thrilling game against a very tough opponent. Offense: Mandy Yang 8 of 15, 117 yds 2TD's & 1 INT Amelia Hovis 6 of 11 for 68 yds and 1 TD Kyria Zapala 41 yds on 5 attempts, Eva Walker 5 carries for 31 yds 1 PAT Keianah Hart 4 receptions 38 yds 1 TD, Reagan Wireman 2 rec 17 yds 1 TD, Avery Nelson 2 rec 44 yds, Siona Ohime 2 rec 45 yds 1 PAT. Defense: Kyria Zapala 5 tackles, Aerabella Churchill 2 tackles 1 INT, Mia Johnson 2 tackles 1 INT, Reagan Wireman 3 tackles.
