Varsity vs John Glenn High School (5 - 5) Tie Wow what a crazy and end to end game. The banged up Lady Slicers with their fourth game in 8 days put together a very solid performance that had allot of highs and lows. All of the Lady Slicers had numerous outstanding plays and effort during the contest to be proud of. Claire Huber was able to get an early break away from a nicely placed pass from Seliana Galicia to get the Slicers on the board first and then John Glenn was able to get 2 goals shortly after. Then late in the first half Natali Cuarenta secured the equalizer from a nice cross from Bayleigh Miller. The Lady Slicers started the second half with a flurry tallying 3 goals to take a 5-2 lead. Bayleigh followed up with another nice assist allowing Claire to finish to take the lead. Claire shortly after made a nice play in box resulting in a penalty which she put away. Finally Seliana finished the scoring from a nice assist from Claire for the 5-2 lead. After awhile from end to end play John Glenn was able to make it 5-4 and then in the final minute was awarded a penalty which was allowed to be retaken after missed. Both teams played a very competitive game which i am sure both will grow moving forward into the season. The young Lady Slicers look to grow and get healthy by playing the Merrillville Lady Pirates in conference play.
