LPVB clinches share of DAC title

The LaPorte volleyball team clinched a share of the Duneland Athletic Conference title on Tuesday night with a 26-24, 25-18, 25-21 victory at Valparaiso. The Slicers will try to take sole ownership of the league crown Thursday night at Lake Central. Offensively, Emalee Maesch led the Slicers with 12 kills, while Ava Holtz added 11 kills. Madison Dhoore contributed seven kills with Bella Meier tallying six. Elizabeth Anglin (4 kills) and Kate Buckley (3 kills) rounded out the offense. Meier also dished out a team-best 37 assists. Defensively, Izzy Freese led the way with 16 digs. Holtz tallied 11 digs with Anglin tallying 10 digs. Meier recorded six digs, with Maesch contributing four digs. At the net, Buckley had a team-leading seven blocks and Anglin added four. On the service line, Holtz tallied five aces with Anglin recording two. Freese and Maesch each had an ace in the victory.
