In their home opener, your Slicers lose a close one to Crown Point 14-20. Mandy Yang led the quarterbacks going 3/7 for 48 yds, one TD, a two point conversion & one INT. Amelia Hovis also tossed a TD and two point conversion, one interception and rushed for 58 yds. Kyria Zapala had 70 yds on 14 carries, Eva Walker added 21 rushing yards to the effort and Siona Ohime snagged three catches for 32 yds. On defense Marlee Burger had 4 tackles, Regan Wireman had 3 tackles, 2 TFL's and Kyria Zapala recorded 2 QB sacks. Mandy Yang added an interception to the effort. Overall with only 4 returning players from last years' team on the field tonight, this team looked motivated and competitive! The Slicers host Jimtown on Wednesday August 19th at 6pm. In the JV game between Laporte and Crown Point, The Slicers lost a close 6-0 with outstanding effort on defense throughout the game. However, a quarterback sneak at the end of the half was enough for Crownpoint to earn the victory. On offense, Ta'Niyah Cooper had 4 carries for 36 yds and Lucinda Desi ran for 17 yds, they led the offense with several big runs. Raelynn Borntrager lead the offense with multiple great passes throughout the game. Molly Altman and Mollie Guthrie let the team with three tackles each and Grace Bray-Daley had one INT.
