La Porte Slicers JV Breeze Past Portage Junior Varsity Indians

La Porte Slicers JV won big over Portage Junior Varsity Indians 11-3 on Tuesday. La Porte were the first to get on the board in the second when one run scored on a dropped third strike. A sacrifice fly by Jake Dickman, a single by Andrew Colon, and an error helped the Slicers extend their early lead in the third. Colon earned the win for La Porte. The pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Ian Mitchell pitched four innings in relief for the Slicers. The right-handed pitcher allowed six hits and three runs while, striking out five and walking none. Colon and Zack Donah each collected two hits for La Porte. Mitchell and Colon each drove in two runs for the Slicers. La Porte had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 12 walks for the game. Mitchell, Quinn White, Jayden Proffitt, and Donah led the team with two walks each. Mitchell, Kaysen Henriott, White, and Proffitt each stole multiple bases for the Slicers. La Porte ran wild on the base paths, collecting 15 stolen bases for the game. La Porte Slicers JV will next be in action Wednesday, May 20th, when they will again take on Portage.
