La Porte Slicers JV Baseball Sweeps Double Header Against Lowell

In the first game, Madix Splix drove in four runs on three hits to lead La Porte Slicers JV past Lowell Junior Varsity Red Devils 15-5 on Saturday. Splix singled in the second scoring three, singled in the second scoring one, and singled in the third scoring one. La Porte scored 10 runs in the second inning on the way to victory. Splix singled, scoring one run, Ryan Kavanaugh singled, scoring one run, Zack Donah hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Quinn White singled, scoring two runs, Jake Dickman doubled, scoring one run, Ian Mitchell was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Splix singled, scoring three runs. The Slicers scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning. White singled, scoring one run, Wes Kaiser singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Splix singled, scoring one run. Nolan Darrell earned the win for La Porte. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and five runs (zero earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking seven. Kaysen Henriott appeared in relief for La Porte Slicers JV. The Slicers amassed 13 hits in the game. Kaiser and Splix each collected three hits for La Porte. White collected two hits for the Slicers in three at bats. White and Splix each stole multiple bases for La Porte. The Slicers stole eight bases in the game. La Porte turned one double play in the game. In the second game, La Porte Slicers JV won big over Lowell Junior Varsity Red Devils 9-3. A single by Madix Splix gave La Porte the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second. The Slicers extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Wes Kaiser and Kaysen Henriott. Henriott earned the win for La Porte. The righty gave up zero hits and one run (zero earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking four. Ian Mitchell pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for the Slicers. The pitcher allowed three hits and one run while, striking out five and walking two. Quinn White closed out the remaining two innings giving up one hit and one run while, striking out three and walking two. La Porte amassed 10 hits in the game. Kaiser went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Slicers in hits. Mitchell, Kaiser, Henriott, and Splix each drove in two runs for La Porte. Jake Dickman collected two hits for the Slicers in two at bats. The La Porte Slicers JV team will next be in action Tuesday, May 19th, when they will travel to Portage to take on the Indians.
