Jayden Proffitt’s Big Day Propels La Porte Slicers “C” Team Past South Central Junior Varsity Satelites

Jayden Proffitt collected four hits in four at bats, as La Porte Slicers “C” Team defeated South Central Junior Varsity Satelites 11-4 on Thursday. Proffitt tripled in the fifth inning, doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning. La Porte got on the board in the first inning after Proffitt singled, scoring one run. The Slicers added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Jack Lampa grounded out, and Brayden Watson doubled to center field, each scoring one run. A sacrifice fly by Colin Wathen gave La Porte Slicers “C” Team the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third. La Porte captured the lead, 8-4, in the bottom of the fourth when Watson doubled, scoring two runs, Eli Combs singled, scoring one run, and Proffitt doubled, scoring one run. Lampa earned the win for the Slicers. The pitcher surrendered six hits and three runs over three innings, striking out four and walking two. Maximus Noveroski took the loss for South Central Junior Varsity Satelites. Combs threw three innings in relief striking out six and walking three. Proffitt pitched one inning of zero-run ball for La Porte in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out three and walking none. The Slicers collected 11 hits in the game. Watson led La Porte with three runs batted in. The leadoff hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Combs collected two hits for the Slicers in four at bats.
