At the DAC Championship Meet on Wednesday, Junior Casey Cochran saved his best for last by hurling a throw of 53-9, and besting the field by over a foot. That throw not only puts him as the #1 thrower in the conference, but that mark is also the best in the region, and #6 all-time in LPTF history! Not too far behind was Senior Malachi Washington's throw of 51-2, which was good for 4th place overall. Earlier in the discus, Washington finished 2nd overall with a throw of 140-5. In the jumps, Junior Destin Matzke had a somewhat off day, but was still able to finish 3rd in the high jump (6-0), and 7th in the long jump (20-11.25). Junior Preston Scheidt finished 7th in the high jump with a clearance of 5-10. It was a quieter evening on the track scoring wise, but the 3200 Relay team of Evan Howes, Brody Griffin, Graden Clark, and Andrew McKie raced to a 5th place finish with a time of 8:42.46, Sophomore Caleb Rose earned a 6th place finish in the 1600 with a time of 4:36.99, and the 1600 relay team of McKie, Ayden Hunt, Jermaine Kirkendoll, and Matzke placed 6th with a time of 3:37.96.
