LaPorte Varsity boys volleyball fell to South Bend Riley in 3 sets. 13-25, 23-25, 16-25. Bryce Jones led the team in aces and in kills. Javier Magana and Slade Rain led the team in digs. Dimitrius Staggers, Isaiah Hurt, and Graham Kitkowski each had a solo block. The JV team left Riley with a win in 3 sets. 25-22, 23-25, 15-10. Jordan Rivera had an amazing game and led the team with 24 serves, 10 of which were aces. He also led defensively with 25 digs. Not far behind was another incredible leader in defense, Will Garcia, who had 17 digs. Offensively, Miguel Jacuinde, Wrigley Painton, and James Quadlin led the team at the net. Miguel had 23 attempts, earning 3 kills. James had 17 attempts, earning 2 kills. Wrigley had 13 attempts, earning 3 kills. Derek Villalba-Vera led with 4 assists. JV is set to defend their title against Merrillville tonight in the Slicer gym. Come cheer on the boys to victory!
