Big Fourth Inning Leads Chesterton Past La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers April 29, 2026 vs. Chesterton Chesterton defeated La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers 15-4 on Wednesday thanks in part to nine runs in the fourth inning. La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers opened the scoring in the first after Bella Escobedo doubled, scoring Ava Moses. A single by Jillian Conrad gave La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second. La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers took the lead in the top of the third. Abby Culp singled, scoring two runs, to give La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers the upper hand, 4-3. Chesterton scored nine runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Bozak earned the win for Chesterton. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and four runs over five innings, striking out one and walking two. Johnson took the loss for La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers. The starting pitcher went four innings, surrendering 15 runs (seven earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking five. Abby Culp, the number seven hitter for La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers, led the way with two runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Bella Escobedo went 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles to lead La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers in hits. La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers play at John Glenn on Monday in their next game.
