CT Rusboldt’s Clutch Hitting Propels LaPorte Slicer Varsity To Victory Over Michigan City Wolves By GameChanger Media CT Rusboldt drove in four runs on three hits to lead LaPorte Slicer Varsity past Michigan City Wolves 17-3 on Tuesday. Rusboldt doubled in the fourth scoring two, doubled in the first scoring one, singled in the second scoring one, and walked in the third scoring one. LaPorte Slicer Varsity scored nine runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. an error scored one run, Keegan Ramos was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Rusboldt doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Stephen Poe drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lincoln Grohs singled, scoring two runs. LaPorte Slicer Varsity got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Rusboldt doubled to left field, and Joey Kirk singled to center field, each scoring one run. Michigan City Wolves made the score 3-2 in the top of the second after AJ Galindo singled, scoring two runs, and Kameron Timm laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run. LaPorte Slicer Varsity took the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the second thanks to singles by Noah Combs, and Rusboldt. A single by Combs, a walk by Jordan Anderson, and a walk by Rusboldt helped LaPorte Slicer Varsity extend their early lead in the third. Kirk earned the win for LaPorte Slicer Varsity. The righty allowed two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Brennan Cosich took the loss for Michigan City Wolves. The starting pitcher went two and one-third innings, giving up eight runs on 10 hits, striking out two and walking one. Nate Moses stepped on the hill first for LaPorte Slicer Varsity. The starter allowed two hits and three runs over one inning, striking out three and walking one. Cody Benedict collected the save. LaPorte Slicer Varsity collected 13 hits in the game. Kirk and Rusboldt each collected three hits for LaPorte Slicer Varsity. Combs collected two hits for LaPorte Slicer Varsity in three at bats. Anderson paced LaPorte Slicer Varsity with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. LaPorte Slicer Varsity stole five bases in the game. LaPorte Slicer Varsity turned one double play in the game. LaPorte Slicer Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Combs had the most chances in the field with eight. Galindo went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Derrick Fowler led Michigan City Wolves with two hits in two at bats. Michigan City Wolves turned one double play in the game.
