Elkhart Lions Varsity got on the board in the first inning after Nolan Linn singled, scoring one run. A single by Donnie Elam extended the Elkhart Lions Varsity lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning. In the bottom of the fourth inning, LaPorte Slicer Varsity went back into the lead after Khalen Matzke singled, Keegan Ramos walked, and CT Rusboldt walked, each scoring one run. Elam grounded into a double play, which helped Elkhart Lions Varsity tie the game at three in the top of the fifth. A wild pitch gave LaPorte Slicer Varsity the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the fifth. Joey Kirk earned the win for LaPorte Slicer Varsity. The righty allowed two hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking one. Aidan O’Brien took the loss for Elkhart Lions Varsity. The right-handed pitcher went one and one-third innings, surrendering one run (zero earned) on zero hits, striking out two and walking three. Cody Benedict began the game for LaPorte Slicer Varsity. The pitcher gave up five hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking one.
