Madi Squire collected three hits in three at bats, as La Porte Varsity Softball defeated Westville 13-0 on Friday. Squire doubled in the third inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the first inning. La Porte scored seven runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. Squire singled, scoring one run, Lexi Surowiec doubled, scoring two runs, Evie Travis singled, scoring one run, Paige White singled, scoring two runs, and Keraghan Blind singled, scoring one run. La Porte got on the board in the top of the third inning after Shayla Sorg hit a sacrifice fly, and White was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run. Kieanna Simpson earned the win for La Porte. The starter allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking three. La Porte tallied 16 hits in the game. White provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led La Porte Varsity Slicers with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Squire, Surowiec, and Blind each collected three hits for La Porte. Travis and Allie Wiencek each collected two hits for La Porte. Travis stole two bases. La Porte stole five bases in the game. La Porte was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Next up for La Porte Varsity Slicers is a game against Lake Central on Tuesday.
