La Porte Slicers JV Defeats Chesterton In Pitcher's Duel

Both teams were strong on the bump on Wednesday, but La Porte Slicers JV defeated Chesterton 3-2. Jake Dickman started the game for La Porte and recorded all 21 outs. In the bottom of the third inning, the Slicers took the lead after Wes Kaiser singled to center field, Kaysen Henriott singled down the left field line, and Ryan Kavanaugh grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run. Dickman earned the win for La Porte. The righty surrendered six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking one. Dickman also led the Slicers with two hits in two at bats. Kaiser, Henriott, and Kavanaugh each drove in one run for La Porte. The Slicers turned one double play in the game with multiple outstanding defensive plays. La Porte Slicers JV will next be in action Saturday, April 25th when they will take on Plymouth at DeCamp Field. First pitch is slated for 10:00 am.
