La Porte Slicers JV Fall After Strong Showing By Lake Central Junior Varsity Indians

La Porte Slicers JV couldn't keep up with Lake Central Junior Varsity Indians and fell 10-4 on Friday. La Porte opened the scoring in the first after Wes Kaiser grounded out, scoring one run. Lake Central took the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first. In the top of the second inning, the Slicers went back into the lead after Kaysen Henriott singled down the left field line, Carl Crittendon singled to right field, and Quinn White grounded out, each scoring one run. Lake Central tied the game at four in the bottom of the second. Lake Central ended up taking the lead for good in the bottom of the third. Jake Dickman took the loss for La Porte. The starter went five innings, giving up 10 runs on 11 hits, striking out one and walking two. Henriott and Andrew Colon each collected two hits for the Slicers. Kaiser, Henriott, White, and Crittendon each drove in one run for La Porte. Henriott stole two bases. The Slicers turned one double play in the game. La Porte were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Colon made the most plays with eight. Next up for La Porte Slicers JV is a game at Chesterton on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
